The Project
The Mountains We Climb is a climbing documentary about world-class mountain guide Karsten Delap and the mountain no training could prepare him for. It's a short film about grief, the pull of community, and the strength it takes to keep moving forward, told through climbing, reflection, and the mountains we all face on and off the wall.
We kept the production small and focused so the story could come first. One full day went to Karsten's interview. The rest went to documenting him on the wall and in the places that shaped his story. Before we shot a frame, we built a detailed creative outline mapping every story beat, which let us stay intentional on set while still leaving room for real moments to unfold on their own.
